Your preferred Diamond Certified Electrical Company
I quickly found that I liked the work and was very good at it. I went to night school to study basic electricity, motor control, theory, and electrical code. The combination of field experience and classroom experience made me a well rounded, qualified journeyman electrician. My stubborn streak and pride made it so there was not a problem or job that I could not fix or figure out. Then as well as now, I take pride in finding solutions to the most difficult problems.
In 1986 I left the company and started my own business. I had my contractors license, a truck, tools and no clients. By the end of my first year I had hired an employee, had a list of clients, and future work. I was very busy and since I did no advertising the only way you could find me was through word of mouth.
Eventually I added 2 trucks and hired apprentices. Mulder Electric can be seen in Contra Costa County, Alameda County and beyond taking pride in our electrical work on anything from large new homes in Blackhawk to small additions and remodels. We do service changes, hot tubs, lighting, landscape work, commercial work and more.
Dave Gurule joined Mulder Electric in 2000 and Chris Bennett in 2003. Although I’ve always enjoyed training and mentoring, all Mulder Electric apprentices attend the Merit Shop Electrical Training School. Both men have shown great proficiency in the field, have taken all classroom semesters and received their journeyman certification. They are immensely qualified for any eventualities that may be thrown at them and always have my experience to guide them.

My introduction to the wonderful world of electrical construction began in 1973 when I started working for Aszklar Electric in Orinda. It was a small shop and Ed was a tough taskmaster, but from him I learned perfectionism and pride in all my work. It was a company that mostly focused on small residential remodels and additions, but we also did new homes and commercial projects such as Cybelles Pizza Parlors and the wiring of the first ATMs at Wells Fargo banks.
